Previously, Will had a career in commercial diving, it enabled him to travel around for work if he wished and nearly everyone in the diving industry is self employed so he was able to be his own boss from an early age. He had always wanted to run his own business but truthfully had no idea where to start. After a few hundred hours of research he started to put together the pieces of Oceanhouse.
The big moment that shaped the direction of Oceanhouse was when a friend of Will's told him she'd booked an Invisalign consultation. Seems normal at first. Then she mentioned she'd seen an ad on instagram and booked with that practice. Will knew she'd been thinking about the treatment for at least 6 months and also knew there were a bunch of different practices his friend could've gone to that were closer and there was little to no difference in clinical skill. The deciding factor was that the other practices hadn't been in front of her at the right moment with the right message.
After hearing this story, Will immediately saw there was a significant gap in most dental practices marketing. This subsequently steered Oceanhouse to the destination it sits at today.
